Glen Dale

Thanks to Emily Betts at ‘MLE Promotions’ a great night was had by all! The Fortunes appeared on Friday 2nd February at a memorial night for original members Rod Allen & Barry Pritchard, which raised funds for The Paul Stevenson Memorial Fund in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Also on the bill were our old mates The Pacemakers who took time out of their busy schedule to perform an hour of their hits plus some great dancing tunes! The highlight of the evening however, was Rod & Barry’s colleague of yesteryear, Glen Dale singing ‘You’ve Got Your Troubles’  with us. Glen unfortunately lost a leg through illness and was wheelchair bound, but that did not stop his fabulous voice from soaring through the air! It was an absolute pleasure for me to perform onstage with Glen again. The last time was in Sheffield nearly 30 years ago! I hope we can do it again sometime in the not too distant future……….

  • Hi Mick
I remember the gig we did with Glenn 30 yrs ago in Sheffield it was the Locarno, how time flies, any way good to hear everything is ok with all the guys and Glynn is well now! Hope to catch you at a gig when you come to Sheffield, oh and the billy looks good on the chin!!

  • I think it was a club near Biggun’s house wasn’t it Mark? We played there a lot in the 80’s/90’s I remember. Can’t remember doing The Locarno but you might be right.

We’ve had both Glenn and Bob being poorly in recent times matey.

Hope to meet up before I’m too old!!
