Chris Hutchison is fast becoming a familiar face on the 60’s circuit!

For the last three years, Chris has had the pleasure of being a stand in keyboard player with the Merseybeats, The Tornadoes, Vanity Fair, The New Amen Corner and the Swinging Blue Jeans, and was asked to take Bob Jackson’s place whilst Bob was in hospital.

Chris has enjoyed many live performances  with artistes such as Steve Ellis, The Tremeloes, Brian Poole, PJ Proby, and has recorded and performed with Garry Stringer and Jack Bessant of ‘Reef’ on two of their solo project albums. Chris also recorded with Martin Furey, (son of Finbar Furey) on the critically acclaimed Bohimta album, ‘Belladonna’.

In the mid 1980’s Chris worked with the original hit artistes ‘Mr Big’. During the late 1980’s and through the 1990’s, Chris was the keyboard player with the Brit pop group, ‘The Beautiful People’, who supported ‘Oasis’ on their ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour. More recently Chris opened for Bear Grylls on his ‘Mud Sweat and Tears’ tour, having been requested personally by Bear, who selected Chris’s version of Amazing Grace to be his no 1 disk, in Bears selection of songs for Desert Island Disks.

Chris’s favourite gig?

“When I was in the Beautiful People during the mid 90’s, we were asked to play at Ron Woods 50th birthday bash in his garden! It was a Wild West fancy dress theme. Pretty much everyone you might expect to be there, was there, plus many more. The music went on all night. I ended up jamming on stage with a lot of very famous and talented people. Helluva night!”

Chris is a Dynamic and positive performer with a personable, generous, warm and exciting playing and performing style. He brings a strong and versatile voice along with his undeniably capable keyboard skills and The Fortunes look forward to welcoming him into their midst!
